About Forium Sessions

Forium Sessions is a location-based community platform built by and for action sports enthusiasts. We connect people to the places they love — beaches, breaks, trails, hills, mountains, and crags — and to the communities that use them. Our database grows almost entirely from user contributions. If you spot an error, a missing location, or have a suggestion, reach out — we genuinely want to hear from you.

Create or join your own sessions and adventures, receive alerts from locations and friends, and never miss an opportunity to get out and do what you love. Forium Sessions exists to bring the action sports community closer together across disciplines.

Community Standards

We want Forium Sessions to be a safe and welcoming place for everyone. The standards below explain what is and is not permitted on the platform. Content that is newsworthy, significant, or in the public interest may be permitted even where it would otherwise fall close to these boundaries. Forium Sessions is a global community — something you find disagreeable may not necessarily violate our standards.

Safety

Action Sports and Personal Risk

By their nature, action sports can be dangerous. Participation in any activity covered by the Forium Sessions app is entirely at one's own risk. Forium Sessions promotes an adventurous lifestyle but does not advocate reckless or deliberate endangerment.

Sessions listed in the app should not be taken as encouragement or permission to engage in an activity. Users are responsible for:

Obtaining proper permission from landowners and complying with their usage policies
Ensuring appropriate safety measures are in place before participating
Checking weather conditions ahead of any session and satisfying oneself that it is safe to proceed
Attending sessions set up by unfamiliar organisers with trusted friends
Informing friends or family of your plans, who you are with, and your expected return time

Because of the nature of the application with open forums etc, all users are required to be over the age of 18.

Threats and Physical Harm

We carefully review reports of threatening language and remove credible threats of physical harm to individuals or groups. We also remove specific threats of theft, vandalism, or financial harm. We will work with law enforcement when we believe there is a genuine risk to personal or public safety.

Self-Injury and Suicide

We do not allow content that promotes, encourages, or glorifies self-injury, suicide, self-mutilation, or eating disorders. We also remove content that identifies and targets victims or survivors of self-harm. Users may share factual information about these subjects in a way that does not promote them. We work with specialist organisations to support users in distress.

Dangerous Organisations

The following types of organisations and individuals are not permitted on Forium Sessions:

Those engaged in terrorist activity
Those engaged in organised violence or criminal activity
Mass or serial murderers
Organised hate groups

We also remove content that expresses support for, praises, or condones the violent or criminal behaviour of such groups or their leaders. Broad discussion and social commentary on these subjects is welcome, provided it is handled with sensitivity towards victims.

Bullying and Harassment

Bullying and harassment have no place on Forium Sessions. While you are free to speak openly about matters and people of public interest, we remove content that appears designed to target, degrade, or shame private individuals. This includes:

Posts or pages created to publicly shame a private individual
Images edited to degrade a private individual
Photos or videos of physical bullying shared to humiliate the victim
Persistent unwanted contact via friend requests or messages

Criminal Activity

Forium Sessions must not be used to facilitate or organise criminal activity that causes physical, financial, or other harm to people, businesses, or animals. We work with law enforcement where there is a genuine risk to safety. Celebrating crimes you have personally committed is also prohibited. Discussing, debating, or satirising criminal activity in good faith is permitted.

Sexual Violence and Exploitation

We remove all content that threatens, promotes, or depicts sexual violence or exploitation — including any sexual content involving minors. This includes images shared without consent or in revenge. Sexual exploitation in any form, including solicitation of sexual services, is prohibited and may be referred to law enforcement.

Regulated Goods

Private individuals may not use Forium Sessions to buy, sell, or trade:

Prescription drugs
Marijuana or controlled substances
Firearms or ammunition

Legitimate firearms retailers may reference commercial activity only where they comply fully with applicable laws and regulations. Forium Sessions' payment tools must not be used to purchase or sell regulated goods on the platform.

Respectful Behaviour

Adult Nudity and Sexual Content

We restrict nudity and sexual content to ensure the platform is appropriate for all audiences and cultural backgrounds. We remove photographs displaying genitals or fully exposed buttocks. Some images of female breasts are also restricted, unless shared for medical, health, or breastfeeding purposes, or showing post-mastectomy scarring. Artistic depictions of nudity in paintings, sculptures, and similar works are permitted. Explicit sexual content — whether real or digitally created — is prohibited unless shared in a clearly educational, humorous, or satirical context.

Hate Speech

We remove content that directly attacks people on the basis of:

Race or ethnicity
National origin
Religious affiliation
Sexual orientation
Sex, gender, or gender identity
Serious disability or disease

Organisations dedicated to promoting hatred against any of these groups are not permitted on Forium Sessions. Humour, satire, and social commentary related to these topics are permitted where handled responsibly and in good faith.

Violence and Graphic Content

We ask all users to share content responsibly and to consider their audience. If you are sharing graphic content depicting accidents, injury, or violence, please warn your audience before they view it.

Account Security and Personal Information

By joining Forium Sessions, you agree to use your real name and authentic identity. You must not publish the personal information of others without their explicit consent.

Fraud and Spam

We investigate any suspected breach of account security. Attempts to compromise another user's profile — including fraud or phishing — may be referred to law enforcement.

Intellectual Property

You own all content and information you post on Forium Sessions, and you control how it is shared through your settings. Before posting, please ensure you have the right to share it. We ask all users to respect copyrights, trademarks, and other legal rights.

Reporting Abuse

The best way to report abusive content or spam is to use the Report link that appears near the content itself. For feedback or product suggestions, contact us at hello@buccaneersessions.com.

When reporting, please keep the following in mind:

We may take action whenever content violates these Community Standards.
Reporting something does not guarantee removal — it must violate our policies.
Please tell us why you believe content should be removed (e.g. hate speech, nudity) so we can direct it to the right reviewer.
Our decisions may be updated if new context comes to light.
The number of reports does not determine whether content is removed.
Consequences for violations vary by severity and the user's history. A first violation may result in a warning; repeated violations may result in posting restrictions or a permanent ban.
