North Devon, England
About
Beautiful flat sandy beach. You can walk to Woolacombe in about an hour and a half from here!
Sandy beach with rock outcrops at southern end
Ideal SUP surf to escape wind from East to south west giving clean smaller waves than Saunton or woolacombe beaches.
Can be kite surfed in w to NW wind with northerly winds often feeling stronger than forecast as they get compressed by the dues and hill behind the beach.
High tide launch and landing can be hard due to lack of beach. Keep away from lifeguarded areas and avoid getting to close to the cliffs at south end of beach.
Parking: Big carpark on top of cliffs overlooking the beach.
Motor homes and campervans are able to stay overnight on the hard standing area at the top of the car park. There is no overnight parking at the front of the main car park.
It is not possible to pre-book, spaces are available on a first come first served basis. However, it is only on very rare occasions that we will be unable to accommodate you.
it is not really a camp site so there is not hot water, hot showers or electric hook ups, but you have full use of a toilet block, access to drinking water, a chemical elsan point and our cold, freshwater showers on the beach.
The tariff varies depending upon the time of year.
Massive thanks to West Kiteboarding for the location update.
