Ogwen Cottage

    Snowdonia, North Wales

    About

Ogwen Cottage is located on the A5 by the very scenic Llyn Ogwen (Lake). It gives easy access to impressive and rugged Tryfan. Great climbing as well as hiking around the Devils Kitchen. It’s nestled between two mountain ranges, the vast expanse of the Carneddau to the north-west and the dramatic peaks of the Glyderau to the south-east. It’s a great spot to park and use as a base for a starting point to a wide range of hiking and climbing routes in the surrounding area. The most popular being the footpath up to Wales’ - Cwm Idwal, a glaciated lake, with a mountainous backdrop. The walk up to the lake is a relatively low-level hike and access to popular climbing routes for all abilities including the Idwal Slabs. There are toilets located at the carpark (pay and display) as well as a shop selling refreshments.
