Cuckmere Meanders (Cuckmere River)

The Cuckmere Meanders at this location provide calm shallow slow moving water ideal for Paddle boarding and easy Kayak session. Ideal for newcomers to the sport or a relaxing day on the water. The Meanders lead to the Cuckmere River roughly a mile down stream. The river is tidal so plan your sessions around this. When conditions are good you can paddle out to the bay for further adventure: Kayak surfing, or more experienced paddlers can paddle east along to Birling Gap or west towards Seaford Head. There is a good club situated at the carpark (which by the way gets super busy at peak times) Cuckmere Valley Canoe Club.
