As well as a paddle spot this location is used for swimming a lot. Although it's tidal and technically a river mouth the way the final meander of the River Adur opens in to Shoreham harbour keeps the water slow moving and protected from the wind and waves so it’s pretty flat and on the day we were there surprisingly clear.
